Best at home long lasting manicure with Dazzle Dry

Hi girls! Some of you may know that I have been a nail tech for almost twenty years, so when I run across something good when it comes to your nails you better believe I will let ya know! Problem is I don't run across much that knocks my socks off so to speak. I guess you could say I'm picky maybe..lol! But! I just have to tell you about Dazzle Dry!! I have been so sooo excited about this polish! Here is why..

First of all if you are looking for something that is healthier for your nails and that is more chemical free and vegan well than you need to try this out! I have always had weak and peeling nails no matter what I would do. I did notice that if I stayed on supplements for nails they did get a little better but not much. The peeling just would never stop and I could never get any length on them before they broke off. Its safe to say it has been a constant aggravating problem my whole life especially working in this industry. But since wearing Dazzle Dry in the last 3 months or so that has gone away! My nails are harder. They also don't peel any more and feel healthier! I'm thrilled!

My Dazzle dry after 14 days! My favorite color in Starry eyed

It is long lasting! I"m not kidding when I say that it will last like a gel polish! I do use two coats of the base coat and my polish will last two weeks! I generally don"t keep it on longer than that because my nails grow so fast. I have never seen nail polish that will last that long! I have three kiddos too so I am busy and it does awesome! One coat of the base will last a week or longer and two will last 2-3 weeks! I would suggest trying out both and see what works best for you.

It is very FAST drying! Five minutes that is all! I love how I can do my nails before heading out the door and not have to worry about smuging them when I dig in my purse!#LOVE

I would suggest a couple of things. First this works as a system with the base, top coat and the nail prep.  It all works together, so doing so will get you the best results. The base coat needs to always look clear. If it starts to look cloudy run it under warm water until it is clear. It's good too to lightly cap the ends of your nails  on every coat. Please don't expect results overnight. I did not start seeing results of my nails getting healthier until after about 10 weeks or so.  My nails though needed a lot of help so if yours don't then you will probably see results sooner. I wore this weekly because of how well it stuck to weak peeling nails..so I was hooked!Lol!! I feel that this is honestly everything you would want in a nail polish! #mynaildreamshavecometrue  Have fun! Let me know how it works for you!

New Pottery Barn lights!

Hi there! Hope you are having a great week! Soo progress! We managed to get these Pottery Barn lights hung up, and they are beautiful! I saw this chandelier back when we were living in the apartment and knew pretty quickly that it would be the one! I just love it when that happens...trying to make a decision on things around our house drives me nuts most of the time and then some things you see and its done! Soo I waited till it was on sale and snagged it at 20% off! What do you think? I am almost feeling a little howtie tootie about it but I think I'm gunna be ok.

We just love too how it lights up the evenings in here too. The dinning room looks awesome with the light going all through the beads. This is my first dinning room and so far I am thrilled with how it is turning out ! I am loving too how it makes quit the statement but is neutral too and can go with a lot of different styles.
I was having a hard time getting good pics but I hope you get the idea. This chandelier is a beast though to hang up! Our electrician had to get another guy to hold it for him..me..lol to get it up, so I would recommend you have help it is pretty darn heavy!
I still have a few things to do in here like get chairs and a rug. Rugs are so hard for me! Especially with kids and a lil dog I really don't want to spend too much ya know? So I am still looking for rugs in here and my living room. As for chairs I am thinking of going with navy blue wing back end chairs that make a little bit of a statement. I actually found some at Target online, so I might just go with those. As for the other chairs I have no idea. I keep looking through craigslist for something so maybe that will pay off here soon. Isn't craigs list great?

The other light that I purchased on sale there is this gorgeous star light! I am so excited to get going on my lil entry way makeover! I have BIG plans for it people! I have wanted this light in my entryway for quit a while acually since my last house, but had already put something up, so it got pushed back to never getting it done.

It looks beautiful also in the evenings really lighting up this part of this house! I also did just see this on Amazon or overstock so you might check their prices too if this is a light you want. I was thinking too that a couple of these would look beautiful on a back patio!

We have been so busy its nice to get some bigger things done! Now I gotta get goin on those kitchen lights!

My poshmark closet

Recently, well  back in November, I decided to open a account on Poshmark! Have you heard of it? It has been around for a few years. You can sell your used or new clothing and accessories. Its really is a great and easy way to make some quick money and clean out our closet! So that is what I did and sold a lot of clothing I no longer wanted. I was surprised at how fast it sold! But good, bright clean pictures definitely are the key.  And then I got a lil addicted maybe and thought I would try out selling some retail clothing! I am still learning my way around and trying to find great clothing to put in my closet, but I think I have finally gotten there! I am still building my closet, but I thought I would share some of my new items! I am not sure if I will do a post on every time I put new items in, but I am thinking about it...I have been generally adding a few new items once a month.

These new retail items as well as others are now in my closet under the name @lbrooketrout. If you do stop by let me know so I can check out your closet too!

Summer Express dressing room selfies

Hi there! A couple of days ago I popped on over to Express to look for an outfit for a special occasion that I had coming up, and of course I found way to many cute things going on in there!

The last couple of years I have really liked quiet a lot of the pieces that they have. I feel that a lot of them would stay in my closet for a long time too! These jeans are just ADORABLE! The material was soft and comfortable with a little stretch.. I could definitely live in these all summer! Which would probably explain why there were none in my size..I was totally faking this..lol too big..hopefully I can grab them online! This lil jacket would go with about 90% of my closet!

This is a beautiful maxi! Would be great for all your special occasions you have going on this summer!

LOOOVED this maxi skirt! But I should start off by saying that I live in maxi dresses and skirts in the summer! And this was a winner, great print!

I was not sure about this one but when I got it on I fell in looove! Really soft material and you could wear this everywhere all summer!

I'm not a palm tree girl, but this is a great dress! I love the colors and the shape of it. Longer on the sides and shorter in front and back.. definitely wanted to take this one home...would probably be a good idea anyways to have some palm trees in my closet right??..LOL

Such a cute lil classic shirt dress! This came in a few colors also on sale. Annnnd there is that jacket again! Goes with everythang!

I liked this lil dress! I pared it with this great goes with just about anything black belt! It was a little short for me, but would be really cute for a date night or girls night out! #classic

Another great maxi, this one was a little big for me, but you get the idea...

Thanks for stopping by! Have a great week!

Our new home!

Hi there! Well it has been almost a month since we have moved in! And let me just start off by saying that I will never be moving again...seriously people what an ordeal! Last time we moved we only had Tessa. Now add in three kiddos and a dog and everything you have collected for the last thirteen years. I really did not think it was going to be that bad because really it is embarrassing if I told you how many times I have moved in my life. But this was a whole new crazy never doing again experience for us, but was totally worth the effort and wait. So here we go! I snapped these pictures quickly tonight so this is how the house is looking now. So of course there is much to do and still boxes to go through but this gives you an idea of the house.

This is the view when you walk in the front door. The office is just there to the left.

Here is the office with our brass daybed that I will be keeping in here as far as I know. Its great for our guests. So this room will still be our office/guest room. I decided for now to try the desk in front of the windows so we can see lake views! We do have four bedrooms and the office, but no guest room. The kids all have their own rooms and someday we will probably finish the basement and put a guest room down there.

The dinning room is to the left as well as a powder room and coat closet.

                                                          Our little mud room..

View of the kitchen from the living room. I will be changing out the lights, just have not decided what to do in the kitchen yet. I have my dinning room chandelier, so I am excited to get that up here soon. We went with white cabinets and faux marble counter tops. We were limited to what we could do in the kitchen. I really want a farm sink eventually and that was not an option that they would give us, so I didn't think that it would make sense to get nice counter tops and not be able to change out my sink. So we will eventually be doing that with a little kitchen remodel.  The only thing we did in the kitchen was upgrade the cabinets with crown molding. We painted the cabinets in our last kitchen, or I should say someones else did it for us and it really did not turn out well. We were really disappointed in them, so I really did not want to mess with that this time around.

This is the View from the kitchen into the living room. We  added rock to the ceiling on the fireplace. So glad we did that! It adds so much to the house. The ceiling is vaulted in the living room so the house has a lot of natural light going on. We also did vinyl flooring in the bathrooms and kitchen. We decided it would be a lot more cost effective to put in our own hardwood floors eventually then having them do it. And honestly with three kids I think this is fine. We are liking the faux wood floors for now.

That's it for the downstairs area! I will do another post for the upstairs area soon.
I will probably do a post too in a few months about our home builder and the experience we have had with them. So did I mention that my laundry room is upstairs??!!! (doing the happy dance big time)

2015 long recap!

Hello! Just thought I would say hello..lol.. Anyways I wanted to do a recap of the year since it was a big year for us with some unexpected big things! First of all how about Star Wars!! We thought it was awesome! I grew up on Star Wars so it was a big deal for me so I had to show up in my cool buns, but clearly you ssee I was not the only one thinking this.. We were introduced to the Cinnabon Layla buns...

In the beginning of the year I decided this was the year to go on a big trip. Something like a crazy and true adventure. And since Jeremy and I had not been on a vacation just the two of us in over ten years ..IT WAS TIME my friends and we were going big well big for us. So one night I started looking at planning a trip to Europe and settled on Scotland (hello Outlander!) Jeremy was totally on board because he is sweet like that and I BOOKED IT!! I couldn't believe it....finally we were going and I was living like Claire ha!

Willaim Wallaces sord which is huge... taller than me!

Willaim Wallace monument that you can see from castle Sterling where Mary Queen of Scots grew up. This castle is Amazing with people dressed in costumes of the time. It was one of my favorite things we did! Just beautiful!!

 Castle Sterling

This was a castle we saw off the road when we went to the pub. So we thought we would stop and check it out. Really creepy acually but very cool.

Sheep Heid Inn from the 1300's one of the oldest pubs in Europe. A must go!

Baked brie with apricot sauce. I have never been so snacky before... I wanted to try and eat every thing

 Grant castle on lake Lochness
You wouldnt believe how big this lake is..that's why they cant find nessy;) It was rainy and cold so while we were on the boat we stayed inside instead of touring it. And to my surprise a girlfriend of mine later told me that her father is scottish and his family at one time lived in this castle!..would make sense since they are the Grants. How stinkin cool is that??

The highlands... so much awesome history

Well those are just peoples homes...
So glad we went it was beautiful! The people were great and I cant wait to go back someday!
I did an erlier post on the other places in Scotland we went too. To see it just go over to my travel tab.

In July we sold our house! We had been looking casually for a few years, but had decided to stay in our home mostly because the realestate market in Colorado is really crazy right now. You pretty much have to sell your house before you can even think about buying another one. We didnt want to take that kind of risk and not have nowhere to go and wonder even if we would find something in our price range and something that we loved. It just didnt seem like it was going to work...everytime we looked at a ahome we liked we were going to have to put alot of money into it and well we are tired of big home redos and especially after having to pay what you have to pay in Colorado right now and then put all this money into updating a home just did not apeal to us. I would LOVE to be in a older home in a older neighborhood that would of been ideal, but that comes at a really high price around here these days.
So one day we decided to go check out these new homes in another town close by that we had heard through the grape vine were going up. Jeremy's brother and cousin actually live in this town so we thought it was worth checking it out one afternoon not really thinking at all it would be something we would consider doing.
Sure enough we drove out there took a look at the homes and all the gorgeous lakes and golf courses and decided that week to go for it! For some odd reason this area is beautiful and the prices on the homes are a lot less expensive than where we were currently living. Its weird when its such a beautiful area. We could get so much more of a house here and get a lot across the street from the lake!  We couldn't believe it! we were able to get a lot in a cultasac across from the lake so that our kids in the summer can walk right over there and we can see them from the house! We kept looking at each other wondering why we didn't know this sooner...The only down side was having to sell our house right away and wait for it to be built which would be 6-8 months. But it will be the way we want it and good property not on top of our neighbors which is one thing I really wanted if we were going to go through the trouble of building a new home. It had to be a good lot with more of a yard and not too close to neighbors. So right away We sold our lil casa (in two days) and moved into a apartment. It felt so right and everything went so smoothly. We feel like it will be sooo worth it! we are so so excited! I will definitely be filling you in later when we move in! It has been six months now. hopefully they will be done the end of February to the beginning of march. Its a little under 3,000 sq feet with a 3 car tiered garage. To be continued.....
